Before proceeding, ensure you have the below information. Please keep in mind that, due to security reasons, once you start the process, you will not be able to return to previous steps to revise your information.
- Address, phone number and email address
- Social Security number, date of birth and identification, such as a driver’s license, state-issued identification or a passport
- Mother’s maiden name
- Employment status
- Funding for the new account (You will need the account number and routing number of another bank account or a debit/credit card.)
Important information about procedures for opening a new account: To open an account, you must be at least 16 years of age, must be a Kansas resident and cannot be a resident alien. If you do not meet these requirements, you may still open an account in person at any Legacy Bank location or by calling us at 316‑260‑3711. Some accounts may not be eligible to open online.
To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify and record information that identifies each person who opens an account.
What that means to you: when you open an account, we will ask you for your name, address, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. We may also ask you to send us a copy of your driver’s license or other identifying documents.
